Walsall Head Coach Sean O'Driscoll has spoken to the local press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Wigan Athletic, and has offered an update on the injury status of defender James O'Connor, who missed last weekend's draw with Crewe Alexandra.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Sean said; “He has been playing with painkillers, we scanned him and he’s got some fluid trapped in his thigh. Hopefully he will be okay for Wigan. It’s not as serious as a strain. It’s just trapped fluid but we’ve all had dead legs. I was disappointed for Jimmy because he was desperate to play (against Crewe) but it was a really good game for Matt Preston to come into. I thought for a young centre half he did extremely well.”
