Walsall midfielder Sam Mantom has spoken to club journalists ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with top-of-the-table Burton Albion, and has discussed how confident the dressing room is ahead of the big match.
Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Sam said; “We’re looking forward to Saturday. Burton lost the other night so we’ll head there with confidence and we’ll try to take points off them. We’ve both got games in hand on everyone so we have a cushion to try and gain some more points.
“There will be a big following on Saturday and although it’s going to be a tough game, our away form has been as good as any. Every time we’ve gone away we’ve put a performance on and have given the fans a good day out. We pride ourselves on trying to be hard to beat but I’ve got no doubt we’ll head there to try and win the game.”
Sam also discussed the Saddlers fans, who are set to attend the game in large numbers, he said; “It’s nice to know that we’ve sold out and they’re going to give us their backing again. We’re going to need them all the way through to the end now so hopefully they’ll stick with us and keep us going.”
