Walsall Captain Adam Chambers has spoken to the local press ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League 1 clash with leaders Burton Albion, and has insisted that the team must aim for automatic promotion.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Adam said; “Given the situation we have been in all season, automatic promotion must be the aim. We shouldn’t be thinking about the play-offs at this point. We need to get some wins under our belt and get back into the top two because that’s where we want to be at the end of the season.
“In our position, we feel confident that we are the best side in the league. On our day we are a match for anyone and given the way we’ve played up to this point I think we deserve to be in the top two. But that doesn’t mean anything now; it’s about what we do from this point until the end of the season.”
