RESERVES | Walsall to Take on Wigan Athletic Later Today

Later today, Walsall Football Club's Reserves side will take on Wigan Athletic Reserves in the latest Final Third Development League (West) fixture of the season.

The Saddlers, who are managed by a combination of Development Coach John Ward, and First Team and Performance Coach Jon Whitney, won their most recent Reserves outing which took place last week and saw the Saddlers defeat Wrexham by four-goals-to-two with Jordan Cook, Levi Rowley, Kory Roberts and Kyle King scoring the all-important goals.

The Latics are aiming to build on a superb start to 2016 as Peter Atherton's side, who won by five-goals-to-one at the start of January against Port Vale, currently sit in third position in the Development League table.

As with last week's game, today's match was originally scheduled to take place at Chasetown's Scholars Ground, but will now be played at The Lilleshall National Sport and Conference Centre, Near Newport, in Shropshire due to a waterlogged pitch in Chasetown.

The fixture is scheduled to kick off at 2:00pm and will be open to the public free of charge but please be aware that there are no seating or car park facilities available.
