Walsall defender Jason Demetriou has spoken to the local press following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 victory over then league leaders Gillingham, and has discussed the Saddlers' form which has seen them defeat Coventry City, Burton Albion, and the Gills, all of whom make up the rest of the top four.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Jason said; "They are the pressure games – where you need to stand up and be counted. The boys have done an excellent job. Hopefully we can stay in the running for the rest of the season. It’s just belief now.

“I think slowly we are starting to think we can stay up there and we are one of the best teams in the league so it is all down to us what we do from now on.”
