On Thursday afternoon Walsall Football Club exercised their 24 hour recall clause in the loan agreement which had seen goalkeeper Liam Roberts enjoy a spell of first team football with Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South side Gresley.

Following the recall, Gresley vice chairman Keith Milner spoke to the local press, and was full of praise for both Liam and Walsall as he felt the young stopper had enjoyed another solid spell between the sticks.

Speaking to the Burton Mail, Keith said; "He has been brilliant for us. He has done a lot of good for us and everybody who has watched him week in, week out can tell that he has come on leaps and bounds.

"We are very grateful to Walsall for letting him come here and the business we've done. I would be very surprised if he does not become a regular Football League keeper.

"Speaking to the Walsall goalkeeping coach, I believe they are also grateful to us for the development he has made with us, which is fantastic."

It is understood that, while Craig MacGillivray will start in place of the currently absent Neil Etheridge, young stopper Liam Roberts will be on the bench as youth 'keeper Dan Jezeph, who has been called up to previous Etheridge-less squads, will start for the Saddlers Under 18s as they face a trip to Rochdale earlier in the day.
