Bradshaw Nominated for Player of the Month

Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw has been named among the nominees for the September Sky Bet League 1 'Player of the Month' award.
Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw has been named among the nominees for the September Sky Bet League 1 'Player of the Month' award.

The 23-year-old, former Shrewsbury Town striker, scored three goals in five matches last month, including a match-winning brace against Doncaster Rovers.

Following the announcement, Tom spoke to Saddlers.co.uk, and expressed his delight at being recognised for his month of good form, he said; "I’m over the moon to have been nominated. All personal awards are testament to the hard work of the team. Without them, I couldn’t do my job of scoring goals.

"I scored three more goals in September, with the two against Doncaster probably the highlights. With the first one, the ball dropped to me in the box and I caught it sweetly and it flew into top corner. The second one was a bit unusual for me because I wouldn’t usually try to chip the keeper!

"I don’t think I am renowned for scoring great goals, but he closed the angle down well so I had to quickly weigh up my options and the safest bet was to go over the top. It was a good month for me personally and for the team."

Bury striker Leon Clarke, Colchester goalkeeper Jamie Jones and Rochdale midfielder Peter Vincenti complete the four-man shortlist, with the winner to be announced on Friday.
