Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the local press as he and his team continue to prepare for the start of the 2015/16 campaign, and has discussed Nottingham Forest's former Saddler Jamie Paterson, insisting that Pato will be working hard to make the team to face Walsall in Round 1 of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday, 11th August.
Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; "He spent an awful lot of last season on the bench but he was a phenomenon the year before, scoring a dozen goals I think.
"He probably didn't get the run he wanted last season but I'm sure he will be working hard this pre-season, especially knowing he's playing Walsall the second game of the season."
