Soon-to-be released Walsall Football Club right-back Ben Purkiss, who has today learnt that the club will not renew his contract at the end of the season, has this evening taken to Twitter to thank the club and the fans for their support during his time at the Banks's Stadium.
Speaking via Twitter, Ben said; "Wasn't going to comment today but I'm genuinely touched by the comments on here. I'd like to thank everyone for all their support over the last 3 years.
"From minute 1 the fans have been fantastic and have given me some brilliant memories. In particular Bournemouth away when I first heard my chant, to post Preston in the JPT when I was trying to run!
"Thank you for your support and good luck for the future."
