Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 victory over Oldham Athletic, and has insisted that he hopes Richard O'Donnell will agree to a new deal, but had to take a look at Craig MacGillivray ahead of any potential departure.

Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 victory over Oldham Athletic, and has insisted that he hopes Richard O'Donnell will agree to a new deal, but had to take a look at Craig MacGillivray ahead of any potential departure.
Speaking to
Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "I was delighted that Craig MacGillivray came in and kept a clean sheet on his senior debut. He looked steady and calm on the ball and it was an accomplished debut from him.
"I was always confident that he would handle the situation and whilst we are hopeful that Richard O'Donnell will stay, I had to take a look at Craig today and Richard understands that."
