Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with relegation threatened Crewe Alexandra, and has discussed the Saddlers' recent performances, and his desire to make it three wins-on-the-bounce.

Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "Winning 5-0 certainly puts smiles on faces and that was the case after Tuesday's victory over Crawley Town. It was a fantastic performance and one that we have been threatening for some time.

"We've had some good displays this season where we have not been able to put teams away, but things went right for us in the last game against a side who have a decent recent record.

"Victories in our last two games have given us some breathing space from the teams below us and on Saturday we take on another side in Crewe who are fighting for their lives.

"I know how Steve Davis feels as he tries to develop young players whilst competing against the likes Bristol City and Preston North End at this level. They have goals in their team and it will be a tough encounter for us.

"They beat us earlier in the season; we didn't deserve to lose that game, so hopefully we can redress the balance at the weekend.

"The aim is to make it three wins in a row. It's a local game, so I would like to think that we will take a large and vocal following with us and they can inspire us on to another three points as we continue our climb up the table.

"We're full of confidence at the moment. Our last four or five performances have been fantastic and we are ready for this latest challenge that stands before us.

"Everyone is fit and available for selection, so we're ready for it!"
