Earlier today Walsall Football Club's Reserves side played host to Morecambe Reserves in the latest Final Third Development League (West) fixture of the season.

Walsall arrived at the game, which was played at Chasetown's Scholars Ground, in third place in the table, having won three and lost three of their six league games. Whist Morecambe, who were sixth, out of seven, having won two, drawn one and lost four of their seven league fixtures.

The Shrimps took the lead in the first half via 22-year-old former Everton apprentice Alex Kenyon, the midfield man heading past a helpless Craig MacGillivray in the Walsall goal.

Against the run of play, Morecambe doubled their lead in the second half, this goal, which was scored by Josh Bowden, proved enough to secure all three points for the travelling side as we head towards the end of the Reserves' season.
