The organisers of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy have this afternoon revealed that following a request by Walsall FC and Bristol City both clubs will be now allowed to name seven substitutes for Sunday, 22nd March's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium, an increase on the usual five.
A Football League spokesperson said; “The Board of The Football League recently considered a request from Bristol City and Walsall to allow seven substitutes instead of five to be included on the team sheet for the forthcoming Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium on March 22. The Board acceded to the request and have committed to make this a permanent change to the competition’s rules for the Final.”
