On Sunday afternoon Walsall Football Club travelled to Wembley Stadium for the first time in the club's 127 year history to take on Bristol City in the Final of this season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy competition. Saddlers' first-choice goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell spoke to the press following the game and has praised the 30,000 Walsall fans that made the trip.

Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Richard said; "We came up against a very good side today, they are top of the league for a reason – that's what we've seen today. They're strong and have a great strength in depth within their squad. They were too much for us to be honest.

"Our final ball wasn't great either but it was difficult in the first place to get there. The goals were also disappointing because they were avoidable.

"The supporters, personally, mean everything to me. The fans were great today and we are all chuffed to bits that we got to Wembley in the end for them.

"We're disappointed that we couldn't bring anything home for them. They were different class and we hope we gave them a good day out."
