SMITH TO BE PART OF BCU SPORT AND BUSINESS PANEL

Warwickshire Bears coach Dougie Brown and Walsall Manager Dean Smith will join a host of leading Midlands sporting figures as they consider whether the leadership skills that underpin sporting success can deliver results when it comes to building and running an effective business.
Warwickshire Bears coach Dougie Brown and Walsall Manager Dean Smith will join a host of leading Midlands sporting figures as they consider whether the leadership skills that underpin sporting success can deliver results when it comes to building and running an effective business.

The top coaching pair will be joined by a senior figure from Birmingham City University Business School as well as Jennie Price, Chief Executive of Sport England, and Jason Lee, former coach of the Great Britain men's and women's hockey teams, leading sides at three successive Olympic Games.

The panel, which is free to attend, will be held between 6:30pm and 8:00pm at the Parkside Building, City Centre Campus, Curzon Street, on Thursday, 19th February, will explore what makes a great sporting leader, the unique challenges and pressures of leading a professional sport team and how business leaders might benefit from what goes on behind the scenes at the training ground and in the dressing room, before and after games.
