Walsall manager Dean Smith has briefly spoken to the press as he continues his attempts to sign an attack-minded player ahead of the closure of the transfer window at 11pm this evening.
Speaking to the
Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; “I’m speaking to a few people at the moment and I’m waiting on a few phone calls back and hopefully we can get something moving.
"It’s in an attacking area and it was something we were looking at before Tom’s injury. I’m hopeful but it all depends on the club we are speaking to.
“Young Jordan Murphy was on the bench against Gillingham and he’s earned his chance having done really well on loan at Worcester.
"Ashley Grimes has come on and scored, Cookie can play up there as well so we’ve got a few options."
