Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press about the recent departure of ex-Chelsea midfielder Billy Clifford, and has wished him well for the future.
Speaking to the
Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; “I feel a bit sorry for Billy. He came into the team when we had an indifferent spell and never really had consistency with the injuries that we had at the time.
“He came on and did really well off the bench but he hadn’t been that consistent when he started games for us and that’s what I was after.
“I wish him well in his future and I won’t have a bad word said about him because his attitude was spot on.”
