Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League One draw with Coventry City, and was keen emphasise the positives of today's performance.

Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Dean said; “It was a fair result in the end. We had some good dominance in the first half where we got into some decent areas and had we scored at that stage, it would have been game over.

“They were always a threat because they are a big, physical team and we had to defend a lot of balls into the box after the break.

“The positive is that it is another clean sheet, but with our dominance of the first half, it was disappointing that we couldn't also leave here with three points.

“That’s five League games unbeaten now and I am pleased with where we're moving towards. We're a difficult team to beat and whilst we know that we need to score more goals, things are progressing well.

“It’s another point and now we have the chance to recharge our batteries before our next game.”
