This weekend Walsall Football Club play host to Peterborough United in the latest Sky Bet League One fixture of the season.

Walsall arrive at the game on the back of a 1-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy Area Quarter Final victory over Sheffield United, and are currently on a good run of form, having won three of their last four matches in all competitions.

 WALSALL TEAM NEWS
Walsall manager Dean Smith is not expected to make many changes, however top scorer Tom Bradshaw will be a doubt after he was substituted at half time during the aforementioned 'JPT' victory with a tight hamstring.

 OUR OPPONENTS
The Posh arrive at this weekend's game following a 2-1 FA Cup First Round victory over Carlisle United.

Their most recent League match took place on 1st November, and resulted in a surprise defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe United, the relegation threatened Iron picking up their first win in four league games.

Peterborough have suffered a slight dent as Tottenham Hotspur have recalled winger Kenny McEvoy, but could offer a debut to Bradford City striker Aaron McLean who they are seeking to sign on loan ahead of this weekend's fixture.

 HEAD TO HEAD
Of the forty-seven matches played, Walsall hold a slight lead, with nineteen wins to Peterborough United's eighteen, there have also been ten draws during the fixture's history.

Their first meeting took place at Fellows Park, on 5th December 1959, and ended in a 3-2 win for the Posh, a result that put them through to the Third Round of the FA Cup.

In more modern times, Walsall have won just one of the last five meetings, their victory coming on 18th November last year, a 2-0 victory in-front of the Sky Sports camera's.

The sides' most recent meeting was a 0-0 draw on 14th February, the match taking place at London Road.

 THE OFFICIALS
This weekend's referee is scheduled to be Peter Bankes, who is based in Merseyside.

Referee Bankes has officiated over nine games in various competitions this season, where he has issued thirty-two yellow and three red cards.

Bankes has never officiated over the Saddlers, and was moved up to the list of officials last season. He is regularly selected as an assistant referee.

Mr. Bankes will be assisted by Nick Hobbis and Simon Mather, whilst Stuart Attwell is set to be Fourth Official.
