Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press following Wednesday evening's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area Quarter Final victory over Sheffield United, and whilst praising his side's performance, has paid particular attention to Adam and James Chambers, both of whom received plaudits for their solid performances.
Speaking to the
Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; "I felt we deserved it. I thought we were excellent. The only worry was that we hadn't put the tie to bed because we had some chances to increase the lead and while it's 1-0 there are always nervous and anxious moments but I'm really pleased with the performance.
"I thought there were some really good performances all over the pitch. I thought Adam Chambers was excellent and I thought James Chambers at the back was outstanding today. I've been waxing lyrical about James as a centre-half for a long time and I think that just shows how good he can be.”
