Walsall Football Club attacking midfielder Romaine Sawyers is currently in Haiti, representing St Kitts & Nevis in the latest stage of qualification for the 2014 Caribbean Cup.

Earlier on Wednesday evening St Kitts played host to Barbados in the opening game of both sides' three game group 8 spell.

Village Superstars (St Kitts) midfielder Devaughn Elliott opened the scoring for St Kitts, before Weymouth Wales (Bar) striker Carl Joseph and Pinelands (Bar) striker Arantes Lawrence (2) put Barbados ahead.

Leicester City's Harrison Panayiotou pulled one back for St Kitts & Nevis on his international debut to make it 3-2, but sadly for the 'Suga Boyz' the match fizzled out with the Bajan Tridents securing all three points.

The 'Suga Boyz' still have Haiti and French Guiana to face, with fixtures in Group 8 to be staged between 8th and 12th October.

The purpose of the qualification competition is to determine which national teams can play in the 2014 Caribbean Cup, which in turn determines which of the Caribbean nations, will participate in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In March 2014, it was announced that Jamaica would host the 'final stage' of the competition in Montego Bay.

Walsall's Romaine will miss the Saddlers' Sky Bet League One trip to Oldham Athletic at the weekend.
