Speaking to the
Walsall Advertiser, Westcarr said: “We both agreed it was for the best that I left. He wants to go a different way and go with younger players which I totally respect and it’s his prerogative.
“When you have been involved all the time, scored goals and been a part of a lot of the goals the team has scored, it came as a bit of a surprise. But the manager has looked at it, taken a different view and he wants to go another way.
“That’s fair enough and it wasn’t like I was leaving on bad terms – we shook hands and parted on good terms. I wish him and Walsall all the best. There’s no bad feelings towards Walsall and hopefully it will be onwards and upwards for both parties really.”
