Speaking to the
Walsall Advertiser, he said: “Romaine was brilliant and it was nice to get a good partnership going with him. It was great to have such a good understanding with Romaine, to play in front of him or alongside or behind him and interchange the way we did.
“It was my first full season as a number nine and it was made easier by playing with Rom as I just needed to find little spaces and he would thread the ball through. I expect him to get even better next season – he’s got everything, both in training and on a Saturday when it really matters.
“I've gone now but there’s players that have the chance to come in and play with him. Your Kieron Morris’s, your James Baxendales, players that didn't play as much last season.”
