DERBY DAY ACCUSED APPEAR IN COURT

Seventeen people have now appeared in court in connection with violence before last October's local derby Vs Shrewsbury Town, where one police officer suffered a broken leg and another two were hurt.
Seventeen people have now appeared in court in connection with violence before last October's local derby Vs Shrewsbury Town, where one police officer suffered a broken leg and another two were hurt.

Last month a total of twenty-nine men and youths were arrested and charged with various offences.

Seventeen of the accused have now appeared before Shrewsbury Magistrates Court, all charged with violent disorder, and two have also been charged with causing actual bodily harm to a Police officer.

All seventeen are due back to the court on 24th June for possible sentencing.

The twelve remaining people will appear at other court hearings in due course.
