Walsall Football Club are set to begin the interview process in their search for a new assistant manager, their third of the current season.

Following the departures of Richard O'Kelly to Bristol City and David Kelly to Nottingham Forest, manager Dean Smith will sit down with prospective candidates from Wednesday and, should the right candidate be found may install a new man before Saturday's home game with Shrewsbury Town.

Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith insisted he has no time frame to make an appointment, and will make sure he makes the right decision for the club I've spoken to a couple already and it might be before the game on Saturday. But I haven’t got a time-frame at the moment. I need to make sure I speak to the people and get the right man.”

There are several rumoured candidates, including Paul Hall and Kyle Lightbourne, who we interviewed last year.
