WACKA SIGNS UP

Walsall legend Jimmy Walker has accepted The Saddlers offer of a new contract.

The clubs record appearance holder has signed a one-year contract to take up the role of player/coach.

Jimmy began his career at Notts County but failed to make an appearance for the club and was released in 1993, Joining Walsall in August of that year Wacka went straight into the team and went on to make 475 appearances in all competitions, he was involved in three promotion seasons and achieved cult status amongst the supporters.

Following the expiration of his contract in 2004, Wacka left for pastures new, which saw him join then Championship side West Ham United, appearing in their 2005 victory in the Championship Play-Off final, an appearance in which he suffered a serious knee injury which forced him to miss the majority of their Premier League season.

Returning to The Banks's in 2010 Jimmy went on to break Colin Harrison's all time appearance record in January 2012.
