HEMMINGS BECOMES FIRST SIGNING OF THE SUMMER

Walsall have made their first signing of the summer.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers youth prospect Ashley Hemmings has penned a two-year contract after passing a medical earlier today.

21-year-old Hemmings, who can play on the wings or as a striker, joined Wolves at the age of nine and signed professional terms in 2009, has spent time on loan at Cheltenham Town, Torquay United and Plymouth Argyle.

He was released at the end of last season, after only making two appearances in a Wolves shirt.
