Walsall Under-18s EFL Youth Alliance - North campaign continued on Saturday morning as they visited the RH Academy in Mansfield and took on Mansfield Town Under-18s.

After suffering a 5-2 defeat to Lincoln City U18s in the Youth Alliance Cup last month, the young Saddlers were looking to refocus on the Alliance itself, and build upon their recent success.

MANSFIELD TOWN

Substitutes: Pell, Woolley, Rodgers, Corcoran, Tohovitis

WALSALL

Starting XI: Hamilton-Wright; Tuitt, Wain, Worrall, Bunn, Jarman, Khan, Sjoerdsma, Nash, Kandemiri, Bills

Substitutes: Vreto, Kanyi, Bowes, Grant, Baker

After suffering a 5-2 defeat to Lincoln City in the Youth Alliance Cup last month, the young Saddlers were looking to refocus on the Alliance itself, and build upon their recent success in that side of the competition.

But, that didn't look like it was going to happen as it was the home side who grabbed the opening goal of the contest when Joe Grant struck the ball into Fraser Hamilton-Wright's net with ten minutes of the first half remaining.

However, in what has become a familiar pattern this season, the young Saddlers got themselves back in the game, and ultimately secured a point, when Noah Bowes came off the bench and put the ball in Milla Shore's net. Another point for the Saddlers!
