Walsall were back in Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday afternoon as they made their way to the Colchester Community Stadium and took on Colchester United, as Lee Grant's side were looking to rebound from their recent defeat to Salford City.
The Saddlers wasted no time in opening the scoring when on-loan Wycombe Wanderers man Delan Skura knocked the ball over the line as the home side struggled to clear from a Reece Smith corner.
Colchester were gifted the opportunity to level the scores when Elicha Ahui as adjudged to have committed a foul inside the area, where Jack Payne was more than happy to take advantage from the penalty spot.
Walsall re-took the lead within the final eleven minutes of the contest when Aaron Pressley grabbed his tenth goal of the season in all competitions via a header from a Mason Hancock cross.
The Saddlers added a third goal late in the game when midfielder Courtney Clarke came off the bench to make it a comfortable 3-1 win for the travelling side.
