Walsall Academy prospect Jaden Kandemiri made his Walsall debut on Tuesday evening when the Saddlers welcomed Fulham Under-21s to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium for a clash in the Jersey Mike's Trophy.Initially named on the bench, Kandemiri, who joined the club via the Foundation in 2022, went on to make his senior debut in the second-half of the contest, when he replaced Jamaica international Courtney Clarke just after the hour mark.
Academy graduate Will Etheridge and scholar Ryan Sjoerdsma were also among the starters, with Sjoerdsma making his first start, whilst Ellis Harris, who like Sjoerdsma made his debut off the bench during the EFL Trophy meeting with Stevenage, was a second-half substitute.
The match itself saw a total of five goals scored as the Saddlers secured their first points of the contest thanks to a Tai Sodje brace and a rocket from defender James Furlong in the opening forty-five minutes.
