Swindon Town boss Ian Holloway has admitted Walsall should have had a penalty during Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League Two draw at the Nigel Eady County Ground. With the game already level at 1-1 after Aaron Drinan's opener was cancelled out by Tai Sodje, the Saddlers goalscorer was felled inside the Robins' area when goalkeeper Connor Ripley slid in with a reckless challenge.
However, not everybody saw it that way as referee Alex Chilowicz waved away the Walsall protestations and allowed play to continue, much to the surprise of Holloway.
Speaking via the Swindon Advertiser, he said: "I have to say, I thought Connor should have been sent off, and I thought that was a penalty.
"If that would have happened, God knows how we all we'd all be feeling now. So maybe that's the turning point.
"Who knows? The ref saw it that way. Lots of them wouldn't have done. I thought their goal that went in didn't dent us as much as I thought it would, and I was delighted with the effort. We could have broken away, and we could have scored those bits.
"That's better than we've actually been. So, that's what they're hearing from me. Obviously, I've seen my teams play for me look much slicker, much smoother, but that's not happening at the minute.
"What we have to do is dig in, and I thought every single one of those boys fought like a dying tiger to stay alive, and that's what we've got to do.
"We're going to need some help with that at times. We got. We're going to need some help with that at times, and that's what I believe we are getting from the right people who want to come again on Tuesday night."
