Walsall's Sky Bet League Two campaign continued on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed Port Vale to the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium for a clash in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Despite being on the back foot for much of the first-half, it was the Saddlers who would reach the break with a narrow lead after James Connolly got on the end of a Courtney Clarke corner to give his side the lead.
The Saddlers' second goal of the afternoon arrived in the final minute of normal time as substitute Andy Dallas opened his account for the campaign with a well-taken finish from the edge of the area.
