The Saddlers returned to action on Tuesday evening as they made their way to Gresty Road and took on Crewe Alexandra in their latest outing of the 2026/27 League Two campaign.
Walsall were gifted an opportunity to grab the opening goal of the game within five minutes of half-time when Josh Stephenson handled the ball inside the area, which led to an Aaron Pressley penalty that he was only too happy to take advantage of.
The home side wasted little time in re-establishing parity when Josh March prodded the ball past Jed Ward after taking advantage of some slow reactions in the Walsall backline.
Walsall didn't allow their hosts' goal to get them down for long as Aaron Pressley continued his superb start to the season by heading the ball home from a Reece Smith ball into the box.
The Railwaymen were eventually rewarded for their strong second-half display when Reece Hutchinson grabbed a goal, and secured a point, with a fine strike in stoppage time.
