Walsall have been named among a small number of clubs looking to land
20-year-old Sheffield United midfielder Billy Blacker on loan.Already adding fourteen new players to his squad this summer, Lee Grant is understood to be open to making further additions ahead of Tuesday's Transfer Deadline.
Blacker is a product of the Blades' academy system but has made just two first-team appearances for his parent club, with much of his time being spent in their development sides.
He has, however, enjoyed a solid spell of first-team football away from Bramall Lane, having made twenty-nine appearances during a loan spell with Tranmere Rovers last season.
Joined in the race by Rotherham United and Crawley Town, the Saddlers are facing a race against time to finalise their squad as Deadline Day looms.
