"It Doesn't Look Good": Lee Grant Offers Update as Alex Pattison is Forced Off

The former Bradford City man could be set for a spell on the sidelines after being forced off during the pre-season clash with AFC Telford United.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall boss Lee Grant has revealed that midfielder Alex Pattison could be set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected hamstring injury on Saturday afternoon.

Pattison was named on the bench for the Saddlers' pre-season meeting with AFC Telford United on Saturday afternoon, but, after being introduced at the break, was forced off later in the half after receiving treatment.

Replaced by injury-returnee Ronan Maher, Pattison is likely to undergo a scan over the coming days, with Grant not expecting him to be available for next weekend's pre-season clash with Notts County.

Speaking to the media after full-time, Grant said: "It doesn’t look good, it doesn’t look like he’s going to be with us for the next week.

"If I had to guess then I’d say that we could be without him for a good while, but I’m not guessing because I’m not in the habit of that.

"Let’s just see how we go. We’ll have to assess him over the next week or so and see where we can get with it. It seems to me that it’s a hamstring injury."
