Walsall have been linked with a move with Carlisle United defender Terell Thomas, who will become a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the month.30-year-old Thomas, a product of both the Arsenal and Charlton Athletic academy systems, turned professional with the Addicks in 2014, but failed to make a first-team appearance during his initial spell with the club.
After leaving the Valley in the summer of 2017, Rainham-born Thomas has gone on to make 294 professional appearances, playing for clubs such as Wigan Athletic, AFC Wimbledon, Crewe Alexandra, Reading, Charlton Athletic – where he made 61 appearances across a two-year spell – and, most recently, Carlisle United.
Joining the Cumbrians on a two-year deal in 2025, Terell made three shy of fifty first-team appearances across League Two and the National League before leaving the club when his term ends later this month.
First reported by Pete O'Rourke, the Saddlers have been named alongside Chesterfield in the race for the defender's signature, as new boss Lee Grant looks to add to his squad ahead of the new campaign.
