According to recent media reports, Walsall defender Rico Browne has turned down the club's offer of a new contract and is set to leave WS1 in the summer.Joining the club from Birmingham City in September 2024, Browne went on to make a total of 31 first-team appearances and also enjoyed a loan spell with Tamworth.
First reported by Pete O'Rourke, Browne is understood to have rejected a new contract and is expected to attract interest from clubs in the third and fourth tiers.
Should Rico secure a new club, Walsall would be entitled to compensation, as the defender is under 23 and was likely in receipt of an improved contract offer following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.
