Youth Alliance: Shrewsbury Town 4 Walsall 1

The young Saddlers returned to action on Saturday morning as they made the short trip to Shropshire.
Walsall Under-18s were back in EFL Youth Alliance – North action on Saturday morning as they took on Shrewsbury Town at the Shrewsbury Sports Village.

After suffering a string of draws and defeats, the young Saddlers were able to stop the rot in midweek as they defeated Bolton Wanderers 3-0 at Ray Hall Lane, a superb result against a team sitting in the upper reaches of the table.

SHREWSBURY TOWN
Male; Chaffatt, Fallon, Valentine, Falding, Houlston, Donnelly, Hughes, Snook, Lewis, Aiston
Substitutes: Hill; Nyamwanza, Tait, Stretton

WALSALL
Harrison Barber; Ellis Harris, Levi Wain, Sam Oliver, Ben Roberts, Archie Bunn, Zion Tuitt, Louie Webb, Fin Teesdale, Dylan Thomas, Ethan Khan
Substitutes: Fraser Hamilton-Wright; Jakub Pawlowski, McLloyd Oben, Lincoln Hunt

Despite their recent return to winning ways, it was another morning to forget for the bottom-of-the-table Saddlers as their hosts struck twice in either half (33', 37', 49', and 75') to establish a comfortable lead when the full-time whistle was blown.

It wasn't all bad news, however, as, after falling three goals down, Lincoln Hunt came off the bench - replacing Louie Webb as part of a double change - and scored for the Saddlers, offering a glimmer of hope during an otherwise disappointing day at the office.
