Interim Walsall boss Darren Byfield admitted he was delighted after seeing his side earn a comfortable 3-1 victory away to Barrow on Saturday afternoon.
Going into the game on the back of a duo of defeats and in search of a first win away to the Bluebirds since 1970, the Saddlers opened the scoring via Albrt Adomah before Mason Hancock scored his first and second goals in a Walsall shirt.
The home side were able to get on the scoresheet late in the second forty-five, Jovan Malcolm coming off the bench to give his side an ultimately unfulfilled glimmer of hope.
Speaking to the assembled media, Darren said: "I was delighted with the performance. We knew, last week, we let ourselves down.
"That's collectively, and we had to put it right today. I don't think we've won here in the last five visits, so to get the win, I was delighted."
Going on to talk about brace-bagger Mason Hancock, Byfield was full of praise as he showed just what he is capable of. Darren continued, "Mason is a top player. He's been a standout performer as well since he's come back from his injury, and I'm delighted for him today.
"I'm guessing he would have also wanted a clean sheet, but we didn't get that today. I thought he was really good today, played really well, and I'm glad he got a couple of goals."
