Youth Alliance: Notts County 2 Walsall 1

The young Saddlers returned to action with a clash against Notts County Under-18s.
Walsall Under-18s were back in EFL Youth Alliance - North action on Tuesday morning as they made the short trip to the Norman Archer Memorial Ground in Clifton, where they took on Notts County.

Going into the match on the back of a welcome win over Port Vale that saw Dylan Thomas score the only goal of the game as the team returned to winning ways, Ryan Simmonds' side looked to build on that momentum against the Magpies.

WALSALL TEAM
Harrison Barber; Ellis Harris, Marley Roberts, Sam Oliver, Jakub Pawlowski, Louie Webb, Paul Makavore 8 McLloyd Oben, Finn Teesdale, Dylan Thomas, Will Etheridge
Substitutes: Jaden Kandemiri, Lincoln Hunt, Archie Bunn, Levi Wain, Jude Worrall

After playing out a goalless first forty-five, it was the Saddlers who scored the opening goal of the contest when Finn Teesdale capped off a superb attacking move with the goal just two minutes after the break.

Sadly for the youngsters, their lead didn't last forever as their hosts went on to score two of their own and take all three points during what turned out to be a frustrating outing for Walsall, who must now prepare for an away trip to Bradford City at the weekend.
