Walsall's interim head coach Darren Byfield insisted his team deserved their win after snatching a late goal to defeat Newport County on Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind to a Harrison Biggins goal in the first-half, the Saddlers levelled via Daniel Kanu just after the hour mark before Alex Pattison scored a spectacular late goal to snatch all three points.
Securing a first home win since a narrow 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra on Boxing Day, Byfield offered praise for Pattison before going on to discuss his wider squad selection.
Speaking to members of the media, Darren said, "A massive goal, and we definitely deserved it because I thought they were unbelievable in the second half.
"I didn't realise how far Patto was out, but he deserved it. He was unbelievable today, and without that goal, he still would've put in an incredible performance. At Crewe, he got an assist for Albert.
"He came on at Cambridge and did really well again. Then today he had an assist and a goal. He has had three goal involvements in the three games.
"That's usually enough, but it's his performances that have been better than that. He has played so well, but that was the added bonus."
Going on to talk about his selection, the gaffer has made use of several of the squad's fringe players since replacing Mat Sadler, a decision he feels has allowed his team to freshen up.
He continued, "It's a squad game, and we've got to keep everybody on their toes.
"That's what we did today, and if it goes wrong, then you're going to hear the same things.
"But we have to keep it fresh. We've got seven games left now, and we're pushing. The lads know the end goal, the fans know what the end goal is.
"We want to get out of the league, and we have to keep believing. I believe in that group, and I believe in the fans, and the energy that they gave today was unbelievable."
