Walsall boss Mat Sadler has admitted to being frustrated as his side slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Fleetwood Town on Tuesday evening.
Falling behind to a Mark Helm goal with fifteen minutes on the clock, the Saddlers failed to build upon last weekend's win over Shrewsbury Town.
Despite their defeat, Sadler believes his team performed well and went on to criticise the match officials, as Walsall saw at least two penalty shouts turned down.
Speaking to the assembled media, Sadler said: "The performance was very good. I'm not naive in that we have to pepper the goalkeeper more, and we have to make him make more saves.
"That wasn't there in some parts, but the performance was outstanding. I thought we got let down by the ref.
"There was a clear penalty on Charlie Lakin, Evan Weir has got elbowed in the back of the head, which was right in front of the referee.
"I haven't seen the handball in the second half, but it looked like it. The Charlie one I've seen, and it's a definite penalty, so that was frustrating."
