Walsall FC have confirmed that interim head coach Darren Byfield will remain in charge of the first-team until at least the end of the ongoing 2025/26 campaign.Taking charge following the departure of Mat Sadler, Byfield has guided the Saddlers through two games, earning a win and a draw against Crewe Alexandra and Cambridge United, respectively.
The Club are believed to have interviewed several candidates for the job as head coach but, following Byfield's impressive showing, have opted to retain his services.
Shortly after Sadler's departure was confirmed, several bookmakers linked the likes of former Port Vale boss Darren Moore and current Portland Timbers assistant Liam Ridgewell with a move to WS1; however, we'll have to wait until the summer to see who takes charge.
