Mat Sadler: "We're Just Going to Keep Proving People Wrong"

Here's how the gaffer saw Wednesday's meeting between the Saddlers and Mariners.
Walsall boss Mat Sadler insisted there were plenty of positives to build upon following his teams' two-all draw with Grimsby Town on Wednesday evening.

Going into the game without a win in their last five outings, the Saddlers opened the scoring via a Priestley Farquharson header just after the thirty-minute mark.

However, after on-loan Watford stopper Myles Roberts saw red for a strange out-of-the-area challenge, the Mariners scored twice via Andy Cook in the second half, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Determined to take on their opponents, the Saddlers were able to level the scores midway through the half as Aaron Pressley scored his fifth goal of the season to seal a point.

Speaking to the assembled media shortly after full-time, Sadler said: "There was a lot to like about the team tonight. Anyone who doubts us, we're just going to keep proving people wrong.

"That's how we need to go about things. I just said that to the lads, that belief of who we are was very much evident today.

"I was gutted when we went down to ten men and that changed the course of the game, but until then I thought we were outstanding.

"I'd have to see the sending off back again to see whether it was. I didn't see whether he actually touched him, but I didn't think he did.

"But we had to show a different side to us. You know you're going to come under pressure but for us to show that heart and willingness to get back into the game was very pleasing."
