Walsall boss Mat Sadler has called for composure after seeing his side play out their second goalless draw in as many games as they and Crawley Town clashed on Tuesday evening.
Going into the game on the back of Saturday's stalemate with Accrington Stanley, the Saddlers once again struggled to create any danger in their opponents' final third.
Speaking to the assembled media, Sadler said: "We have to try and find that formula of how we want it to look still.
"Because certainly today there were not enough of those moments of calm or moving the ball where we want it to be.
"I'm not trying to make any suggestion that I want us to be a seventy-to-eighty per cent possession team because I don't.
"I want us to be a team that is fantastic out of possession, which we are, but it's that bit of composure and calmness in possession that was needed today."
After seeing his side slip to sixth in the table, some eight points below league leaders Bromley, Sadler insisted he is still aiming to secure promotion, but admitted his team is currently sailing through rough waters.
Sadler continued: "That's what we want to do — we're here to get promoted. It's that little bit of a period where we have to fight through it and come out the other side.
"If we thought that everything this season was going to be plain-sailing, then we'd be foolish to think that because it won't be.
"But when it isn't properly firing, to then pick up a point is something we can hold on to."
