NEWS & VIEWS
Walsall have been in superb form over the last few weeks. Winning five times in as many games in all competitions, they'll reach this weekend's meeting with the Salopians on the back of a duo of cup victories and a league win over Oldham Athletic.
Televised triumphs over Stevenage in the Vertu Trophy and Gateshead in the FA Cup were added to in midweek as the Reds squeezed past the Latics by a goal-to-nil, building a four point advantage at the top of the table in the process.
Driven forward by on-loan Charlton Athletic striker Daniel Kanu, who has now bagged ten goals since making the temporary trip to WS1, the Saddlers are among English football's form sides, and should be filled with belief as they take on the team from Shropshire.
TEAM NEWS
Striker Aaron Pressley is facing a late fitness test after returning to training following a spell on the sidelines.
Jid Okeke and Evan Weir could both return to the fold after missing the midweek win over Oldham, whilst Harrison Burke, Mason Hancock, and Harry Williams will miss out with longer term injuries.
THE OPPOSITION
Visitors Shrewsbury Town currently sit just three places and two points above the League Two relegation zone, having won just four of their nineteen league games.
Their most recent outing came in the form of a midweek draw with Grimsby Town, where John Marquis' goal in first-half stoppage time was enough to secure a welcome point, damaging the Mariners' push for the Play-Offs in the process.
Winless in their last three league games, the Shrews' last win came in the Emirates FA Cup, where they secured a place in the Third Round with a 2-1 triumph over non-league Sutton United.
