Injury Update: Duo Return as Kemar Roofe Undergoes Scan

The Saddlers have been handed a double injury boost ahead of this weekend's return to action.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC NewsWalsall have received a mixed bag of injury news over the week as Mat Sadler welcomed Jid Okeke and Aaron Pressley back into the fold but faces an anxious wait after striker Kemar Roofe underwent a scan after sitting out the last two games with a groin strain.

On-loan Stockport County man Okeke, who was forced off during the Saddlers' Emirates FA Cup victory over Gateshead with a lower back injury, but has recovered and is back in contention.

Whilst Pressley was replaced by Jamille Matt during the draw with Colchester United in mid-November, and has also been declared fit to return in time for this weekend's trip to Notts County's Meadow Lane.

It's not all good news, however, as recent arrival Kemar Roofe, who missed the victory over Oldham Athletic draw with Shrewsbury Town, underwent a scan earlier this week, and is set to see a specialist to determine the severity of the issue.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Mat Sadler confirmed that the 32-year-old, whose contract expires on Thursday, 1st January, will not be available at the weekend, he said: "Kemar had a scan the other day.

"I'm not one hundred per cent sure on the results from that yet. He's going to see somebody and check what that looks like for him in terms of the results.

"I should possibly know more on Saturday. If not then next week, but he'll be out for Notts County."
