'A Proper Team Performance' - Sadler Delighted as Walsall Maintain Momentum

Here's how the gaffer saw Walsall's League Two meeting with Oldham Athletic.
Walsall boss Mat Sadler has praised his side after they earned their fifth win in as many games with a 10 win over Oldham Athletic on Wednesday evening.

Going into the match on the back of last weekend's FA Cup triumph over Gateshead, the Saddlers scored the only goal of the game to give themselves a four point lead at the top of the table.

Grabbing his tenth goal of the season, on-loan Charlton Athletic striker Daniel Kanu was alert to a defensive error in the twenty-seventh minute as the Saddlers maintained their recent momentum.

Speaking to the media, including Express & Star reporter George Bennett, Sadler said: "It was a great team goal.

"Lewis Warrington closed down their player and forced the mistake. Daniel then does what Daniel does best, and he was exceptional in that moment.

"It was a game of limited chances, and that's the way the game was played. When we got the goal, we knew we were protecting our lead and I felt reasonably untroubled.

"There were a couple of balls into our box at times, but it was a proper team performance, and we've got some real warriors."
