The Saddlers were back in League Two action on Saturday afternoon as they took on Harrogate Town in front of the Sky Sports+ cameras.
Looking to recover from last weekend's disappointing defeat to Colchester United, Mat Sadler made four changes to his team as he looked to avoid another winless game.
Walsall were the more threatening side for much of the first-half and were eventually able to go into the lead when Danile Kanu and Jamille Matt combined for the former to grab his seventh goal of the season.
Walsall doubled their lead in the Priestley Farquharson marked his first start in some fifteen months as he headed the ball into the back of the net from a Ryan Finnigan corner.
