Loan Watch: Saturday, 4th October 2025

Here's our latest look at how the loaned-out Saddlers are getting on.
Bescot Banter - Walsall FC News
There are a handful of Saddlers currently out on loan, with players from the academy and first-team looking to impress and potentially force their way into Mat Sadler's first-team plans.

McLloyd Oben - Stourbridge
McLloyd was a second-half substitute as Stourbridge took on Anstey Nomads in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy on Saturday afternoon.

The match looked to be going the way of the Glassboys as goals from Shay WIllock (11') and Jenson Sumnall (22') gave them a two-goal lead.

However, goals from Lewis Gibbens (28') and Courey Grantham (36') put the game back on level terms before Liam Murphy (90+3') struck late on to send the Nomads through.

Oben took to the field shortly after the match had reached the hour mark, but was unable to help his side progress to the First Round proper as their competition came to an end.

Dylan Thomas - Stafford Town
After making the move to the Bards in midweek, Dylan was named on the bench as they took on Sporting Club Inkberrow in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy.

The match was goalless until twelve minutes before full-time, when Bardsman Dan Lafferty was sent off for a handball, allowing Jay Higgins-Pugsley to score from the spot.

However, the ten men of Stafford refused to be beaten, as goals from Lewis Ison and Harry Reilly saw them advance to the First Round proper.

Thomas did secure some match minutes as he replaced Owen James with sixty-five minutes on the clock.

Ronan Maher - Tamworth
After returning to the Lamb for a third loan spell, Ronan was named on the bench as they welcomed Morecambe to town in the National League.

After falling behind to Gwion Edwards' 75th minute effort, the Lambs were able to secure a point just five minutes layer as Kennedy Digie netted with a well-placed header.

Ronan took to the field with around an hour played as he replaced Harvey Sayer and will be looking to get more minutes as he hopes to gain fitness ahead of a potential push for first-team football in WS1.

Charlie Wragg - Halesowen
The Yeltz were also in action in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy on Saturday afternoon as they took on Leek Town at the Grove.

Charlie had to make do with a place on the bench, but did get involved in the goal scoring, as he set up McKauley Manning to briefly restore parity after Alex Hurst had put the visitors into the lead on the stroke of half-time.

Replacing former Saddler Milan Butterfield just before the hour mark, Wragg will be hoping to get more match minutes as his loan spell continues.

The match went the way of Leek as Lucas Weir secure their place in the First Round proper with a goal in second-half stoppage time.

Josh Gordon - Barrow
Josh Gordon played for the full ninety-minutes as Barrow and basement-dwellers Shrewsbury Town played out a goalless draw at the SO Legal Stadium.

Levi Amantchi - Rochdale
Levi was a late second-half substitute as the Dale defeated fellow National League title-chasers Forest Green Rovers in Nailsworth on Saturday afternoon.

Kyron Gordon's 44th minute goal was enough to separate the sides as Rochdale continued their strong start to the season, remaining at the top of the table.

Levi was only afforded one minutes of action as he replaced Connor McBride with just one minute of stoppage time remaining.
